She was born in Ontario, Canada. Laura was an extremely weak baby but as she grew up she became more tough and involved in several sports like karate, football, basketball, tennis, gymnastics and baseball. She even earned an additional level Black Belt in karate. Her passion for sports aside and went on to pursue a career her passion for acting with. Laura was thirteen when she began taking acting classes in her native Toronto and, following that, she went to auditions to various locally produced plays and TV shows. Her first time on screen was in the TV show "Are you scared of darkness". In 2003 she landed the role of Sadie Harrison in the CTV TV series "Instant stars". She also appeared on "The Lookout" which was a feature film in which Jeff Daniels and Matthew Goode were also present. A few years later she picked up where Jessica Alba left off, as the female lead of "Into the Blue II: The Reef".
